→ A Local Bank in Amish Country Flourishes Amid Dearth of Small Lenders – WSJ
One of the first articles that I linked to after starting this website was about the opening of the unique Bird-In-Hand Bank. It’s inspiring to know that the bank is succeeding with $60 million in loans to the local community in the first year. I was out in the area recently on a trip to another locally owned and operated nearby business, Millers Natural Foods. Driving by I noticed a fresh pile of horse misht in the bank’s drive through window lane and couldn’t help but chuckle.
