National Canal Museum/Emrick Center

The National Canal Museum is the only museum in the country dedicated to telling the story of America’s historic towpath canals. The museum features hands-on exhibits that educate and entertain parents and children alike.

Practice harnessing a mule and steering a boat! Learn about the men, women and children who lived and worked on the canals, and discover how they used simple machines like levers and pulleys to make their job easier.

Ride the Josiah White II canal boat
