Cumberland County Historical Society to publish book on mills

 

→ Historical society cranks out a special project on county mills

The book will be published in March the book will:

“documents the origin, chain of ownership, stories and ultimate fate of 117 of the estimated 150 mills that once operated throughout the county.

“Content includes a bibliography, index and glossary along with end notes for each write-up and a variety of period maps, drawings, old newspaper ads and current and vintage photographs. The book has chapters on the socio-economic effect of mills and biographical sketches of major mill owners from throughout the county.”
