PHOTOS | Conewago Falls Potholes near Falmouth, PA – Susquehanna River Set I

Click here for a map of where to park and how to get to the best area for exploring the potholes and rock formations. The best time to go is when the river is at or below the 3.5 foot level. Click here and scroll down to the “Gage height, feet” graph to check the current water level data.

This is really one of the most interesting and fun geological features in the entire state of Pennsylvania. But it is relatively unknown amongst the general population. The potholes are best visited during a specific time of year so if your in the area at the right time I highly recommend taking a whole afternoon and exploring this utterly unique location. I will be posting a second set of photos soon so stay tuned.
